Webinar: Cyber Risk Reality: Small Business Attitudes Toward Data Security Threats and Cyber Liability Insurance

It seems a day hardly goes by without news of another major cyber attack, or a new online scam finding scores of victims. Small business owners are particularly vulnerable, as they often do not have the IT infrastructure and expertise or the financial resources to handle a cyber attack. Cyber attackers know this: in fact, according to ransomware recovery specialists Coveware, more than 80% of ransomware attacks focus on small businesses.

Clearly, the need for cyber liability insurance is greater now than ever, and insurance carriers need to provide support and resources in an accessible way.

Zeldis Research Property and Casualty Insurance Practice Lead, Kristina Witzling, shared a free webinar about our recent qualitative research conducted with small business owners on their attitudes toward cyber security and cyber liability insurance. In this webinar, we will share:

  • Small business owners’ views on cyber security and cyber threats, and their awareness of potential vulnerabilities
  • Their biggest cyber exposures (e.g., collecting customer payment information, storing data, capturing Personally Identifiable Information), and ways those threats have changed over the past few years
  • The steps, if any, are SBOs taking to protect themselves from cyber threats, and their most important sources of information and support
  • Purchase triggers for cyber liability insurance, and attitudes toward purchasing standalone cyber versus a cyber endorsement/add-on to another business insurance policy
  • Barriers to purchasing cyber, and ways insurance carriers can help to educate SBOs
  • Key cyber liability insurance carrier selection criteria
  • Ways cyber liability insurance carriers can better meet small business owners’ needs

We will be posting webinar video and presentation deck shortly.
